Roger Ellender (Head, Risk Management)

Roger was educated in England, and holds a B.A. (Honors) degree from the University of Liverpool, and a M.A. from the University of Essex. Roger has nearly 30 years experience working in banking and financial services (almost entirely in emerging markets), with Bank of America (in the Middle East), Banque Nationale de Paris (now BNP-Paribas), Standard Chartered Bank, Credit Suisse and UBS (in Singapore). Whilst with Banque Nationale de Paris, Roger was seconded to United Bank for Africa plc (from 1990-93), under the terms of a technical services agreement. He subsequently returned to Nigeria in 1999 to join FCMB as Executive Director, Operations & Risk Management before being hired by Travelex Nigeria as General Manager in 2004. Roger joined Afrinvest West Africa Limited in January 2008 and is responsible for overseeing risk management for the firms various businesses across the markets
